Crystals, fossils, and gemstone rough

Crystals and minerals in their natural state can become wonderful, unique jewelry. Many unpolished, uncut gemstones and crystals, such as azurite, kyanite, quartz, amethyst, bismuth, and  more, make spectacular, one-of-a kind pendants when wrapped in sterling silver, gold-filled. or even solid gold. Fossils, such as ammonites, trilobites, and sharks' teeth may be wrapped in the rough or, as is often the case with ammonites, sliced and polished to show off their internal structure while leaving the outside of the fossil unaltered.

Here are some examples of J.D. Hallowell's unique, handcrafted pendants made from fossils and gemstone and mineral rough:

Left to right: Azurite crystals in sterling silver; sterling silver ammonite fossil earrings; rough blue kyanite in sterling; drusy spirit quartz in 14/20 gold-filled
